FAQ

How often should my HVAC system be serviced and maintained?

Regardless of the manufacturer, all HVAC systems should be inspected and maintained prior to use for the season: furnaces in the fall/winter and air conditioning units in the spring/summer. This will allow our NATE-certified technicians to prevent damage from occurring to your home and equipment, ensure it will function properly when needed and most importantly make sure your family is safe while the system is in operation.

What can I expect to spend on HVAC services?

There are a variety of factors that determine how much an HVAC installation will cost. The condition of your ductwork and vents, the size of the unit installed, the features and efficiency you desire will all have an impact on the overall cost. At Wheeler’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, initial service calls are priced at $69.99 and include diagnostic examinations of your home. Once we have determined the underlying problems of your unit, we provide free bids for all replacement or installation work. All services and repairs are quoted at an upfront  standard flat rate so there are no hidden costs for you, regardless of how long it take us to complete your repair. New installations of HVAC products typically start at $2,400.

How long will new HVAC system installs take?

Most new HVAC installs take 1-2 days, depending on the ease of access to your ductwork and the size of the unit installed.

How long do your HVAC services take?

Services are usually competed in 45 minutes to one hour. Repairs are completed the same day if the appropriate parts are available.

How quickly will you respond to HVAC emergencies?

One of our NATE-certified technicians will be able to respond the same day of your call. Our scheduling is flexible, so we can meet your time constraints.

Do energy efficient air conditioners, furnaces and water heaters cost more than traditional ones?

Yes, energy efficient HVAC units have more up-front costs than traditional models. However, the overall energy savings (operation cost), tax savings and rebates make these more economical for the long term.

Can I get tax savings and rebates on energy efficient HVAC models?

Yes. The current federal tax savings is up to $500 on energy efficient HVAC models. In Colorado, Xcel Energy offers rebates on energy efficient HVAC models:
  • Up to $1,000 on a/c units
  • Up to $120 on furnaces
  • Up to $100 on tankless water heaters
  • Up to $25 on standard tank water heaters
Varied rebates are available from other utility providers.

Do you offer installation and service warranties?

Yes. Wheeler’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling offers a 1-year warranty on HVAC installations and a 1-season warranty on HVAC cooling or heating repairs.
